The Holidays

The Holidays are a fun time of the year but sometimes it can be hectic. Do not let them become hectic. Slow down and enjoy the gift that GOD has given us...Peace! Peace from being in a right relationship with Him. This will allow us to love and have the right relationships with others. Remember to be a blessing and if you have burdens; share them with others. They can help!
Merry Christmas to All!

Hot Summer and School

Well it's hot here and school is about to start. I wonder how, where and what God is going to do this school year? Well are family has a theme verse for the year:

1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (ESV)
May it be our life's end each and every day, until he comes...

When you're in love with a beautiful woman...

What a beautiful woman enough said! Thanks for your love and companionship over these last 15 years my love! You are simply the best.

She went as a girl and come home a young woman...

It is very interesting to watch how God unfolds his plans and glory in our children. Alex went to Ecuador as a girl and she came home a young woman. Her attitude was changed, belief in Christ was strengthen, and her overall outlook on people, especially the children of Ecuador , has grown. Now She tries to see people as they are through the eyes of Christ. So much so she said, "I cannot wait to go back!" What a privilege it is to see God at work in your kids.

When we were boys...

The "Boys of Summer" after capturing Bill the sand crab. They were proud of their spoils from the great beach safari. Often in life we forget the fun and the adventure we had as kids. And how God created the simple things in life to be enjoyed and thus find contentment. When we are so stressed and life seems so tough remember to be boys (or girls) again and enjoy the adventure in what God has made .

Where has my wife gone?

What do you do when your better half is away from you? You pray and trust in Christ so when the next time you meet, you drink it all in! Enjoy not just the way she looks but soak-up all there is to know about her and let here know that she is your girl. The one God gave to you as a gift to share this life with-together! Missing you from north of the boarder! Love BD

More family in foreign countries than in the USA

Well,
Tricia and Alex arrived safe in Ecuador! Praise the Lord!
God has big plans for all who have arrived there from Ninth and O Baptist. I thank God for their protection. With my sister in Honduras and all 7 of her kids, more of my immediate family is south of the boarder than in the USA!
Also remember your Fathers tomorrow! Thank them for all of their hard work in raising you!

God is in control

Recently,
I found out that the job in Maryland isn't going to happen. I was disappointed but God used a single small thing to change my course...
In April, my family and I came to visit my sister before she went to Honduras, but right before we left this is what happened. Yours truly received a speeding ticket just prior to the Maryland visit. Which had it's court date was just before we left. So i didn't think it was going to be a big deal and just paid it. Well...about 3 weeks ago I received in the mail a letter from the DMV and found out I received a larger point value than anticipated. And then received a email from the job stating i needed to bring my drivers license and record when I reported to work. Well I got to thinking about how this company has a "certian" number of points in order to be employed there (when the position requies you to drive a vehicle). So I called and found out the "certain" number and realized I had to many. Needless to say I will not be working there this summer. I feel bad and hope the people who tried to get me there will forgive me. It was an honest mistake. This has revealed to me that even though we make plans God is the one who is in control and He directs our path! My lovely wife is happy we will not be separated for that time. Although we are concerned about our finances, God will provide!
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight
Praise Christ!

The offense of the cross

I pray that God will draw you to Himself today and that you may know His forgiveness of sin! This is why, unless God draws you to Himself through His Son Jesus, the cross is foolishness to you...

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

If God is drawing you today, ask God to deliver you from your sin and rebellion against Him. Turn to Christ and his vicarious sacrifice on the cross in our place to save you from the pit and be reconciled!
May God grant you peace in His Son!
